World Cup 2022 qualification Africa competitions 1st round

The 2022 World Cup qualification for Africa has started. 28 countries compete against each other in the first round of this qualifying series.

First round World Cup qualifying Africa

The 28 lowest-ranked countries of Africa play the first qualifying round. During the draw, two countries were linked to each other, who will decide among themselves who will proceed to the second phase.

The matches of the African qualification will be played between 2 and 10 September 2019.

WK 2022 qualification Africa competitions 1st round

Second round World Cup qualification Africa

14 winners of the first round join the best 26 African countries. This group of countries is exempt from playing the preliminary rounds.

A total of 40 countries will be divided into 10 groups of 4 countries, the 10 winners of which will advance to the final round.

Third round World Cup qualification Africa

The 10 winners from the second round are linked to each other by drawing lots. The 5 winners of these mutual duels have earned a ticket for the World Championship 2022.
