Scotland v Ukraine match postponed and Russia v Poland cancelled

Due to the war between Russia and Ukraine, FIFA has decided to move the play-off match between Scotland and Ukraine. The game between Russia and Poland is canceled entirely.

Ukraine is classified in World Cup qualifying play-off path A and Russia in path B. The winner of each path qualifies for the World Championship in Qatar.

Scotland - Ukraine moved to June 2022

Ukraine is a victim of the war and cannot travel, train and play football under these conditions. The Football Association had submitted a request to FIFA on March 3 to move the qualifying match. The other countries in Path A play-offs unanimously agreed to accept this request.

The Scotland v Ukraine match was scheduled for March 24, but will now be played in June 2022. The winner of this match will play the final in path A, and of course this final will also be moved to a later date. The other semi-final is between Wales and Austria on March 24.

Russia - Poland will be canceled, Poland in final path B

Following an earlier decision by FIFA to ban Russia from football as the instigator of the war, the match against Poland has been canceled.

This means that Poland is directly qualified for the final of play-offs path B. This final will be played on March 29, 2022 against the winner of Sweden - Czech Republic.
