For the Al Rayyan Stadium 210000 m2 of land has been dug up to 6m deep
The Al Rayyan Stadium is increasingly taking shape as the temporary training pitches are being prepared for the new football season in September 2016. The season then begins again for the Qatar Stars League champion, Al Rayyan. The new training facilities are being built by the Supreme Committee for Delivery & amp; Legacy, so the club can continue training until the stadium is finished in 2019.
The training fields will be laid down very quickly and will be ready for use before the start of the new season. To ensure that the Al Rayyan club can continue training during the construction of the stadium, FIFA supports the necessary facilities. There is a building for administration and six fields with changing rooms. There is also an athletics track, press room, recovery room with ice baths, sauna and jacuzzi.
For the new Al Rayyan Stadium, 210,000 cubic meters of land have been excavated. For the foundation, parking lot and the new soccer field they dug 6 meters deep. The environment will be completely changed in 2019 when the construction is ready, partly due to the new Dukhan highway, the Doha Metro and a new shopping area.
The locals have been asked to contribute to the design the Al Rayyan Stadium. This makes the football stadium very modern, but it also fits in with the surroundings. There is also great support for a new area around the stadium, so that it will actually be used by the people of the host city.
The upper rings of the stadium with 40,000 seats will be dismantled after the World Cup 2022, after which a football arena of 20,000 seats remains.
