Football field laid in record time in World Cup 2022 stadium in Qatar
The field in the stadium for the 2022 World Cup was laid in record time by 40 specialists. Specially for the Khalifa International Stadium, the grass was developed in Qatar and laid within 14 hours. This football stadium is the first to be ready to host the football World Cup.
To be precise, the football pitch was laid in 13.5 hours, with around 7,800 m2 of grass being moved by 40 specialists from the Turf Nursery to the historic stadium.
The experts used 8 special machines to correctly place the grass in the stadium where the quarter finals of the 2022 World Cup will be played. Also a innovative new roof installed , allowing more shade over the field and the stands, but also allowing enough light to pass through for natural growth of the grass.

The Turf Nursery is located in the Aspire Zone in Doha and covers three hectares of land where 12 different types of grass are tested .
