Clubs receive more than 200 million for players at the 2022 World Cup
FIFA will provide $209 million to clubs relinquishing players to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. This payout is part of the Club Benefits Programme.
Each club is compensated for each day their footballer participates in the World Championship, including the official preparation time.
In this way, the football association wants to reward all clubs for their contribution to the success of the football tournament. It concerns not only clubs where the player is currently active, but also clubs where the player was under contract for the past two years.
For each player, a club receives about $10,000 per day. In total, FIFA will distribute no less than 209 million dollars among clubs around the world.
The Club Benefits Program has been in existence since 2010 and in 2018 416 clubs have benefited from it.
